Hi Everyone, we have an exciting junior level underwriting role. Our client is looking for an Underwriter or Associate Underwriter to join their team in Halifax. This role will primarily focus on underwriting, marketing, and managing a designated portfolio within the Financial and Professional Services sector. The successful candidate will play an essential role in maintaining and growing this portfolio by effectively analyzing risks, negotiating terms, and ensuring strong account retention.

Key Responsibilities:

• Underwrite and manage a portfolio of new and renewal business, including evaluating risks, negotiating policy terms, and ensuring high retention rates.
• Profitably underwrite and maintain a portfolio of Management Liability products, including Public Directors & Officers (D&O), Private D&O, Employment Practices Liability (EPL), and Fiduciary coverage.
• Collaborate with team members, management, and product leaders to ensure alignment with underwriting protocols and overall product strategies.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

• University degree or equivalent required; a Bachelor of Commerce is preferred.
• Previous experience in Financial Lines underwriting or broking is a plus.
• Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
