Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Payroll and Human Resources Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in ensuring efficient HR operations by processing payroll, assisting with recruitment processes, and maintaining employee records.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in administering payroll for all employees, which includes checking timesheets, calculating hours, and processing payments.
- Audit payroll data for accuracy and resolve any discrepancies immediately.
- Provide support in the recruitment process, including scheduling interviews, liaising with candidates, and maintaining the applicant tracking system.
- Maintain up-to-date and accurate employee records, which includes personal data, employment contracts, and payroll information.
- Assist in onboarding and induction programs for new hires.
- Help in developing HR policies and procedures.
- Provide HR-related support to employees and respond to their queries timely and professionally.
- Assist with employee benefits programs, including enrollments, terminations, and answering employee questions.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working in a similar role, preferably within HR or payroll.
- Excellent knowledge of labor law and employment equity regulations.
- Strong understanding of payroll and payroll tax procedures.
- High level of proficiency in MS Office and HRIS systems.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- A degree in Human Resources or related field is preferred.
