Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Estimator to join our team in Charlotte. The Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for ground-up commercial construction projects, with a primary focus on healthcare facilities. This role requires a strong understanding of construction costs, materials, and methods, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with project teams to ensure successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Cost Estimation:
- Develop detailed and accurate cost estimates for healthcare and commercial construction projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor services.
- Bid Preparation:
- Prepare comprehensive bid packages and proposals for submission to clients and project owners.
- Plan Review:
- Analyze project plans, specifications, and drawings to determine scope of work and identify potential risks or opportunities.
- Vendor Coordination:
- Solicit and evaluate quotes from subcontractors and suppliers to ensure competitive pricing and compliance with project requirements.
- Budget Management:
- Work with project managers and leadership to align estimates with project budgets and financial goals.
- Market Analysis:
- Stay updated on market trends, material costs, and labor rates to ensure accurate and competitive pricing.
- Collaboration:
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, and project teams to resolve discrepancies and clarify project details.
- Documentation:
- Maintain detailed records of estimates, bids, and supporting documentation for future reference and audits.
Qualifications
- Experience:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as an estimator in commercial construction.
- Experience with healthcare construction projects is highly desirable.
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Skills:
- Proficient in estimating software (e.g., ProEst, PlanSwift) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and best practices.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Certifications:
- Certification in cost estimating or construction management is a plus.
