Job Summary Verify that financial disbursements to all student accounts are in accordance with appropriate federal rules and regulations, as well as University policy. Report directly to the Bursar.
Essential Job Duties - Report directly to the Bursar.
- Verify the accuracy of student charges for tuition, fees, room and board reported on billing statement.
- Verify that financial disbursements to all student accounts are in accordance with appropriate federal rules and regulations, as well as University policy.
- Post charges and credits to individual receivable accounts for billing.
- Identify and correct discrepancies in account receivable records, as appropriate.
- Answer telephone and respond to customer inquiries.
- Manage the monitoring, notification and collection of student account receivables.
- Ensure that agency scholarships and all other third party grants or advances are posted to student accounts and assist with the billing, collection and reconciliation of these third party accounts.
- Process, monitor and assist in management of book vouchers.
- Assist with the disbursement of student refunds.
- Cashier, whenever necessary.
- Perform other job related duties as assigned.
Qualifications (Education, Experience and Specialized Training) - High school diploma
- Must have knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and general office machines.

Skills and Attributes - Must have demonstrated customer service experience; must be able to provide excellent customer service with a positive, helpful attitude.
- Must be able to maintain professional conduct/appearance.
- Must be able to communicate effectively.
- Must be trustworthy in handling large sums of money and confidential information.
- Knowledge of: Some federal guidelines related to the awarding and disbursement of federal financial aid.
- Ability to: Ability to read, understand and properly calculate student account balances. Ability to learn to use multiple platforms to perform job duties, i.e. Nelnet Payment Plan, Colleague, etc.
