Altis is proud to partner with a leading cultural institution in Toronto, to hire a Senior Procurement Specialist to join their team. This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in optimizing the acquisition of goods and services, ensuring best value while adhering to stringent policies and directives.
Reporting to the Director, Financial Services, you will spearhead the institution's procurement program. This encompasses the full spectrum of procurement activities, from sourcing and evaluation to contract negotiation and vendor management. You will be instrumental in developing and executing Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and Requests for Quotations (RFQs), ensuring open, fair, and transparent processes.
This is a full-time permanent opportunity requiring on-site work in downtown Toronto
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the design, development, evaluation, and execution of all RFPs, RFQs, and related procurement documents.
- Providing expert guidance on procurement processes and best practices.
- Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and regulations.
- Managing vendor relationships and negotiating contracts.
- Developing and maintaining procurement policies and procedures.
- Overseeing year-end purchasing cut-off procedures and providing information to external auditors.
- Managing monthly and annual procurement reporting.
- Leading and mentoring a team of procurement professionals.
Qualifications:
- Degree/diploma in Business Administration or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Professional designation (or near completion) such as CPPB, CPPO, SCMP, or CPP is highly desirable.
- Progressive experience in public purchasing, including strategic procurement and RFP/RFQ development, ideally with some experience in a management capacity.
- Proven experience in contract management and vendor negotiations.
- Comprehensive understanding of public purchasing principles and government directives.
- Exceptional negotiation, analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
- Strong experience in developing and managing office practices and procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with suppliers, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
