Controller Role in Southern Milwaukee County
We are working on a Controller position for a regional bank out of the Milwaukee area. This bank has been around for over 50 years and not only are they stable, but growing across the region, so it is an exciting time to get in with them!
Job Duties:
- Assist CFO with financial activities and annual budget preparation
- Month-end close process including preparation and posting of journal entries
- Reviews and audits third party vendors and maintains current information on contracts with the bank
- Establish (in coordination with Leadership) financial and operating benchmarks, budgets, program monitoring, and reporting standards on biweekly, monthly, and annual basis
- Participates in formulating and administering company policies and developing long range goals and objectives
- Annually audits the reconciliation of all internal accounts
- Monitors portfolio for unusual transactions which may lead to purchasing or selling securities
- Implement consistent accounting policies, practices, and procedures across all programs, adhering to national and local legal standards
Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field
- 4+ years of accounting experience
- Financial Services/Banking OR Public Accounting experience REQUIRED
- Process improvement mindset
- Communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and organization
