Job Description

Agilus is recruiting for an Estimator (Intermediate) in the Oil and Gas industry in Sturgeon County, Alberta.


Reporting to the Construction Strategy and Integration Lead, the Project Controls / Estimating Coordinator is responsible for supporting the Engineering Services Projects and Facilities Engineering teams on projects by providing oversight of a project throughout its lifecycle. This will include creation of estimates, budgets, and forecasts, and cost and schedule tracking and reporting.


Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the tracking, consolidation and reporting of incurred costs for all Capital Projects; Assist with tracking and reporting of all items that effect cost throughout all event or project life cycle phases.
  • Perform “day-to-day” consolidation and analysis of cost, schedule, and forecasts; Develop and/or support the development (via 3rd parties) of Capital Project estimates.
  • Recast budget estimates to fully integrated resource leveled daily, monthly, annual class estimates as required; Working with the project execution team to develop monthly cost forecasts.
  • Assist with the tracking, consolidation and reporting of incurred costs for Capital Projects; Assist with tracking and reporting of all items that effect cost throughout project life cycle phases.
  • Maintain, track and report all Trends and Change log items relating to Capital Projects; Support change management process ensuring all changes are estimated and tracked to completion.
  • Perform analysis to support project KPI tracking and prepare required documentation for reporting KPIs; Support the preparation and creation of the Authorization for Expenditure (AFE) documents for capital Projects.
  • Continuous improvement - Identify opportunities for process improvement within project controls, proposing and implementing enhancements to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
  • All other duties as assigned.


Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree in a related field (engineering, commerce), or a PMP designation or working towards a PMP or equivalent experience working in project controls.
  • 5+ years of project controls or estimating experience preferably in Oil and Gas or similar industrial plant setting.
  • Field execution / site work experience.
  • Experience using MS Office suite of applications with emphasis on Excel, Word, and Outlook; Ability to quickly learn new software systems and procedures.
  • Experience with working in ERP systems (Maximo) and Scheduling systems (MS Project and/or P6).
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills; motivated and energetic with the ability to prioritize and multi-task.
