Can-Tech Services is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer for one of our reputable Automotive Manufacturing clients in the Vaughan area.
Our client is a premier manufacturer that develops customized high-performance HVAC systems for vehicles and machinery in construction, agriculture, forestry, mining, material handling and utility vehicle industries, making the driest or wettest surroundings and the most extreme hot or cold weather unnoticeable.
The position is a Full-Time and Permanent Position directly with the client.
The rate of pay is between $80k - 100k per year.

Key Responsibilities:
- Proficient in hands-on process troubleshooting.
- Collaborate with cross functional teams to evaluate existing processes, identify pain points, and develop strategies for improvement.
- Design and implement process improvement initiatives to enhance operations, reduce cost, and increase overall effectiveness.
- Lead and facilitate process improvement project portfolio, ensuring effective project management, adherence to timelines, and successful implementation.
- Initiate and build effective relationships with colleagues in other departments, leveraging strong interpersonal and influencing skills to support and develop effective cross-departmental relations and work initiatives.
- People management to support and deliver on change management and adoption across the organization.
- Support end-to-end process evaluation, look for improvement opportunities, plan and implement changes.
- Develop SOPs, WI, process flows, time studies and data mining to look at improvement opportunities within existing processes.
- Supporting development of Management Systems (process controls, metric & reporting, training, etc.)
- Develop process models to better understand how upstream and downstream processes integration with operations.
- Facilitate sessions to review integrated processes with key stakeholders, partners in the business and process owners.
- Proactively provide solutions by using imagine approaches where constructive thinking and innovation is required.
- Develop value stream maps to identify wastes and areas of improvement.
- Support strategic process improvement opportunities and coordinate with key stakeholders.
- Improve current production part process capability and repeatability through the optimization of existing manufacturing processes.
- Work closely with the Project Management Team to support new product launches, engineering changes implementation and product/process continuous improvement initiatives and related activities.
- Completing all required APQP-related activities, ECR processes 8D, 5 why and all other quality management system requirements as needed.
- Conduct time studies, identify capacity constraints and opportunities to improve efficiencies and reduce manufacturing costs.
- Support in the development of Process Control Plans and Process Flow Charts.
- Development and maintaining documentation for PFMEA, Operator instructions, Rework, Change-over procedure and instruction, Manufacturing Engineering Open Issues, and Continuous Improvement Program.
- Co-ordinate, lead and participate in various multi-disciplines teams in addressing and fulfilling various corporate objectives associated with manufacturing process, productivity, volume outputs, scrap/rework, quality, safety and delivery commitment.
- Providing quote direction for new business related to tooling, new materials and processes as required.
- Writing specification, competitively quoting, negotiating, managing program timelines and budgets, buy-off, and commissioning in our facility.
- Reviewing part designs and providing feasibility input for ease of manufacturing and cost reduction.
- Reviewing fixture/jigs/gauges designs to ensure they are built to meet customer standards and requirements.
- Reviewing facilities and equipment requirements with relevant inter and external customers/suppliers.
Formal Training or Qualifications:
- Professional (5-7 years of experience): Specialized knowledge and know-how in Project Management. Conducts analysis experience.
- 5+ years of experience in process optimization, operations, change management, transformational change or business management.
- Facilitation skills to lead large groups through complex processes and projects.
- Excellent time management, organizational and a keen attention to detail are required.
- Strong business acumen and the ability to apply concepts and theories to improve functions with an understanding of the overall impact to the business.
- Experience/knowledge of Lean Six Sigma DMAIC methodology and tools including, FMEA, root cause analysis, process design and modeling, process measurement analysis, process optimization.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills required, and ability to collaborate in a cross-functional environment.
- Must have demonstrated a track record of initiating and implementing process cost reductions in the Lean Manufacturing environment.
- Strong computer and presentation skills (Microsoft, Viso, excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and work well under pressure, with changing deadlines and priorities.
- Prioritize tasks to take action; work with partial responsibility and minimal supervision.
- Excellent problem solving skills with ability to lead a team.
- Strong technical knowledge, particularly in the areas of manufacturing and assembly preferred.
- Previous electrical engineering experience is an asset.
Professional Qualifications:
- Degree, diploma, Certificate, etc. based training/education in Trade/Vocational, Secondary or Postsecondary institutions.
- P.Eng, MBA, CQE, CQM, Cpp, etc.
