  • Conduct testing, debugging, and failure analysis of circuitry, and create test fixtures to support circuit board development and production
  • Produce detailed documentation, including block diagrams, electrical requirements, design descriptions, test protocols, and failure analysis procedures
  • Develop new prototypes with originality and ingenuity
  • Break down system requirements to define electrical specifications and architectures
  • Utilize expertise in electronic design techniques and system integration to address complex challenges
  • Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team of mechanical, controls, systems, software, and test engineers for efficient development cycles
  • Adhere to DEKA processes, design controls, and documentation standards
  • Coordinate with external design partners and suppliers
  • Manage multiple projects effectively, adapting to varying scope and complexity
  • Provide specialized knowledge and contribute cross-functionally within the organization

Qualifications & Skills for Success in This Role:

  • BS in Electrical Engineering required
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience developing complex electro-mechanical devices
  • Proven experience in electrical circuit board schematic design and PCB layout (preferably using Altium)
  • Track record of taking electrical designs from concept to production
  • Strong experience working within multidisciplinary teams to iteratively design, integrate, and test systems
  • Proficient in drafting specifications and detailed design documentation
  • Hands-on skills in circuit debugging, testing, and analog/digital simulation, along with familiarity with electrical test equipment (DMMs, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, waveform generators, etc.)
  • Experience in designing, characterizing, and analyzing novel sensors
  • Solid understanding of signal integrity, timing, power management, and design for ESD and EMC compliance
  • Experience in RF design and testing is a plus
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet strict timelines
  • Familiarity with analytical software (MATLAB, Python, Labview, etc.) for data analysis and automation
  • Knowledge of embedded software development in C/C++ for microcontrollers (ARM, PIC, AVR, etc.) is highly desirable
  • Understanding of medical device standards and safety regulations (e.g., IEC 60601-1, ISO 13485) is a plus
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
