Job Opportunity: Tuition Benefit Specialist

Location: Bala Cynwyd, PA 19004

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM with a 30-minute lunch

Pay Rate: $26 - $29/hour

Position Type: Temp to Perm

Hybrid Work Option: Yes (On-site required a few times per month)


Job Description:

We are seeking a Tuition Benefit Specialist to oversee all aspects of the Tuition and Dependent Tuition Benefit Programs for various entities and tuition programs. This role will facilitate day-to-day operations, ensuring that employees, tuition vendors, and participating educational institutions are satisfied, and all tuition information is accurate. The Tuition Benefit Specialist will also lead and manage Student Loan initiatives for the system. This is a key position within the Benefits team, responsible for the continuous improvement of Educational Benefit Programs across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Subject Matter Expert: Be the go-to resource for the Tuition Benefit Program, explaining the program, requirements, federal/state/local taxes, and policies to employees and providing guidance to help them complete their applications.
  • Collaboration: Work with tuition vendors and internal departments (HRIS, IS, Payroll) to ensure smooth file and data processes, troubleshooting issues, and escalating as necessary.
  • Day-to-Day Operations: Manage various tasks, including handling tuition vendor files, processing payroll, tax, repayment, refund, and loan files, and collaborating with collections firms.
  • Tuition Tax Process: Understand and communicate all aspects of the tuition tax process for all entities, responding to employee inquiries.
  • File Review & Management: Review files from the tuition vendor, including suspended master files, missing/failing grades, collections, and open vouchers.
  • Collections: Prepare collection data, review appeals, and manage employee collections in collaboration with the collection vendor.
  • New Programs Management: Manage new programs, including Loan Forgiveness and Loan Assistance, from implementation to ongoing promotion. Respond to email and voicemail inquiries within 24 hours.
  • Program Promotion & Communication: Lead live sessions focused on the Tuition Program in partnership with other teams, and develop written materials to promote new programs.
  • Data & Reporting: Provide data, reports, and analysis to department leadership, and assist with data requests from other departments to support recruitment, retention, and employee growth.
  • General Support: Perform duties in accordance with organizational policies and procedures and support other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • At least 1 year of experience in an HR/Benefits-related role.
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively across departments.
  • Comfortable with reviewing and manipulating various types of data files.
  • Experience with tuition tax processes is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Student Loan programs is a plus.
