Job Description

We are currently hiring a Project Estimator for our client in the Bridgeport, WV area.


Job Description

  • Analyzing requirement documents and project plans to gain a thorough understanding of the project related to project scope and requirements
  • Developing material requirements and cost estimates for major capital projects based on industry knowledge, historical project costs and cost benchmarking
  • Communicating with personnel, contractual professionals and/or vendors to gather material and services cost estimates for engineering, procurement and construction
  • Working with internal company departments and vendors to develop labor cost estimates
  • Working with other professionals including consultants, contractors, accountants, engineering and operations personnel to provide accurate project estimates used to develop customer pricing related to project
  • Conduct site visits and gather necessary information for accurate cost estimates
  • Coordinating project cost estimates with project schedule including providing multiple schedule and cost scenarios for any given project
  • Summarizing cost estimate details and associated risks for management review
  • Developing and managing cost estimation tools including spreadsheets, software applications and third-party cost information
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with company vendors and contractors
  • Reevaluating project scope, risk and schedule to provide alternative cost scenarios


Work Experience Requirements

  • Experience in analyzing requirements data to develop material and cost estimates for large projects
  • Minimum of 5-7 years in the natural gas industry
  • Experience in project management, project financial oversight and/or procurement
  • Pipeline and vendor contacts in the natural gas industry
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Proficient in using estimating software and tools
  • Knowledge of natural gas pipeline construction materials, methods, and techniques
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents, schedules, drawings, and specifications
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Demonstrated leadership, organizational and interpersonal skills.
