About the Role
The Company is in search of a Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) - IT Director of Security to lead and enhance its security program. The successful candidate will be responsible for strategic leadership, team and budget management, security operations, compliance, and risk management. This pivotal role involves collaborating with the CIO to establish a vision that aligns with best practice standards, serving as a key advisor on cybersecurity risks, and ensuring the organization's security efforts safeguard electronically protected health information and information systems. The CISO will also be instrumental in driving the strategic vision for a robust and adaptive security program, acting as the HIPAA Security Officer, and fostering a culture of security awareness.Applicants for the CISO position at the company should have a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, with a Master's degree preferred, and hold either a CISSP or CISM certification. A minimum of 10 years of information security experience, including at least 5 years in IT management, is required, with a strong preference for those with healthcare IT experience and a deep understanding of HIPAA regulations. The role demands a leader with strong management skills, exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to maintain composure in high-pressure environments. The CISO will also be responsible for overseeing security policies, procedures, and standards, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with security-related matters across the organization.
