About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) to lead its Information Security Team and safeguard the organization's information assets. The CISO will be responsible for establishing and maintaining an enterprise-wide security vision, strategy, and program. This includes ensuring the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of academic and administrative information resources, in compliance with regulatory and compliance obligations. The role involves IT leadership, risk management, policy development, security architecture, operations, compliance, vendor management, training, incident response, and strategic initiatives. The CISO will also be expected to work alongside the Chief Information Officer and other key constituents to set the IT security direction of the organization.Candidates for the CISO position at the company should have a bachelor's degree in a relevant field, additional education in information security, and professional security management certification. A strong background in information security and IT risk management, with at least 7 years of experience, is required, as well as prior managerial experience in an IT service context. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of security protocols and operations, current IT risks, and experience in implementing security solutions. Key skills for this role include strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills, the ability to lead and motivate teams, and a hands-on approach to operational work when necessary. The CISO will play a critical role in the organization, contributing to its mission and ensuring the continued advancement of its security posture.
