About the Role

The Company is in search of an Executive Director for the National Transit Institute (NTI). The successful candidate will be responsible for the Institute's executive leadership, including strategic planning, budget oversight, and general administrative direction. This role involves maintaining and developing relationships with the Federal Transit Administration, transit agencies, and other educational institutions, as well as delivering training courses to the transit industry. The Executive Director will also serve as the principal investigator on projects, make major project decisions, and ensure the effectiveness of training programs through data development and client satisfaction monitoring. Regular communication with the Faculty Director and central administration, as well as representation on various committees and advisory boards, is also a key aspect of the position.Applicants for the Executive Director position at the National Transit Institute should hold a Master's degree in a relevant field and have a minimum of 5 years experience in public transportation, including policy development and senior managerial roles. Strong managerial, project execution and communication skills are essential. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of supervising and motivating staff, developing and monitoring project budgets, and preparing and delivering effective training materials. Experience in the public transportation industry, particularly with the Federal Transit Administration, and a background in instructional technology and web-based course software are highly desirable. The role requires a collaborative team player who is committed to the advancement of the public transportation industry and is willing to travel as needed.
