Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated onsite Legal Assistant/Paralegal to join a dynamic legal team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting three attorneys by managing various administrative tasks and assisting with legal case management. This position requires strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for the legal field.
Duties
- Maintain records for corporate and business clients
- Prepare firm Audit Letters
- Organize all corporations and LLCs with the Indiana Secretary of State
- Bankruptcy filings
- Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and correspondence.
- E-record filing
- Records Research
- Assist attorneys by organizing case files and documentation
- Transcribe legal documents and maintain accurate records
- Manage calendars, schedule appointments, and coordinate meetings for attorneys.
- Handle data entry tasks related to case management systems and client information.
- Maintain effective phone etiquette while communicating with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
- Collaborate with team members on project management tasks to meet deadlines.
Experience
- Previous experience as a Legal Assistant or Paralegal in a similar role is preferred.
- Proficiency in legal drafting and transcribing documents accurately.
- Strong phone etiquette skills to effectively communicate with clients and stakeholders.
- Experience in data entry with attention to detail to maintain accurate records.
- Knowledge of project management principles to assist in coordinating various tasks efficiently.
- A background as a Paralegal is a plus but not required.
