Job Description
We are looking for a reliable Resident Engineer to join the LACMTA program. The Resident Engineer is the focal point for on-site construction management activities and is the single point of contact for communication, both written and oral, with the contractor.
Responsibilities
- Coordinating with contractors: Reviewing and coordinating daily work schedules, and meeting regularly to resolve issues
- Evaluating contractors: Reviewing and evaluating contractors’ proposed progress schedules, and monitoring their conformance
- Recommending corrective action: Recommending corrective action if a deviation from the project plan occurs
- Managing and planning project timelines, budgets, and staffing
- Ensuring that completed work complies with plans and specifications
- Ensuring optimal working conditions for construction personnel
- Testing materials
- Approving workmanship
- Maintaining records
- Enabling Works
- Core LRT - Underground Civil Works
- Core LFT - Aerial and at grade Works
- Maintenance and Storage Facility
- Core LRT System Works
Required Qualifications
- Approximately 15 years' experience in construction supervision with at least 12 years as Resident Engineer or Construction Manager on large design-build rail projects.
- Proven track record in at-grade, aerial and underground construction techniques as applicable.
- In-depth experience in contract administration of alternate delivery construction contracts.
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering.
- California PE is required.
