Job Type: Direct Hire, salaried, base of $45,000/yr with commission opportunity (anticipated first year's salary between $75,000-$110,000)

Our client is a regional leader in providing document and material storage solutions. Since 1976, they have delivered cutting-edge solutions to thousands of clients. They are looking for a dynamic sales professional to join their team in the Birmingham, AL area to drive continued growth. This position offers a challenging and rewarding opportunity for a business development expert to execute sales strategies and close new business. This position will cover Alabama, Tennessee, and Mississippi regions, and will require some overnight travel Mon-Fri, but will have you home on the weekends!

Job Description:

As a Business Development representative, you will be responsible for growing new and existing accounts within the material handling systems industry. Your primary focus will be to articulate the value of the company's solutions, identify client needs, and develop tailored sales strategies. You will manage a territory with a 50% travel requirement, including some overnight stays, and be responsible for:

  • Selling business-to-business solutions to new and existing clients.
  • Developing and executing a sales strategy for your territory to meet or exceed revenue targets.
  • Identifying and cultivating new prospects through cold calling, networking, and industry events.
  • Generating proposals and delivering sales presentations.
  • Managing and updating the sales pipeline using Goldmine CRM.
  • Providing weekly sales reports and feedback to sales management, including updates on progress toward monthly and quarterly targets.

Desired Skills and Expertise:

  • 2+ years of experience in complex B2B sales, ideally in a consultative selling environment.
  • Proven track record in a high-activity sales role, with a focus on new business acquisition.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM tools (Goldmine experience is a plus).
  • Ability to manage time and territory effectively.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and proof of insurance.
  • Willingness to travel (50% travel required).
