Pave Talent is partnering with a leading minerals transformation company to identify a Process Engineer for their North American operations. Recently acquired by private equity, this established manufacturer specializes in advanced materials for paper & board, ceramics, and fiberglass markets.

Key Responsibilities ??
- Lead process optimization and troubleshooting initiatives across two manufacturing facilities
- Manage capital expenditure projects ranging from $1M to $10M+
- Conduct and analyze process-related laboratory experiments and plant trials
- Work hands-on with chemical reactors, dewatering equipment, and milling systems
- Interface with operations teams to improve efficiency and product quality
- Support debottlenecking initiatives to increase plant capacity
- Utilize Rockwell PLC systems for process automation and control
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Chemistry, or related technical discipline
- 2-3+ years of process engineering experience in chemical manufacturing or similar environment
- Hands-on experience with industrial equipment (chemical reactors, vessels, centrifuge systems)
- Strong project management capabilities
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently and coordinate resources effectively
- Clear communication skills for technical writing and presentations
Additional Desired Experience
- PLC/automation systems knowledge (Rockwell preferred)
- AutoCAD proficiency
- Experience with mineral processing or similar industries
- Capital project management experience
Location & Travel
- Primary location: Skowhegan, Maine
- Monthly travel to South Carolina facility
- Candidates based in Portland area (1.5-hour commute) will be considered
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary: $70,000-$80,000 (flexible for exceptional candidates)
- Annual bonus potential: 10-15%
- Standard work hours (8 AM - 4/5 PM)
