Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Analyst/Business Analyst to join our team in the healthcare payer industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in collaborating with stakeholders, defining user stories, and creating acceptance criteria, with a solid understanding of healthcare payer processes and data analysis.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business requirements.

• Create detailed user stories and acceptance criteria to ensure alignment with project objectives.

• Facilitate Agile/Scrum ceremonies and ensure adherence to Agile principles.

• Utilize Jira and Confluence for project tracking, documentation, and collaboration.

• Perform intermediate SQL queries for data extraction, analysis, and validation (e.g., using joins and distinct queries).

• Conduct data analysis and provide insights; experience with SAS is strongly preferred.

• Work closely with technical teams to ensure accurate implementation of requirements.

• Analyze and translate complex healthcare data into actionable insights.

• Engage in periodic onsite meetings in Newark, NJ (2 days per week).

Qualifications

• Experience: 7-9 years of experience as a Data Analyst/Business Analyst in complex environments.

• Healthcare Expertise: Strong experience in the healthcare payer or provider domain; clinical healthcare experience is a plus.

• Technical Skills:

o Proficiency in SQL (query building, joins, distinct, etc.).

o Hands-on experience with Jira and Confluence.

o Experience with data analysis tools; SAS preferred.

• Agile/Scrum Knowledge: Proven track record of working in Agile/Scrum teams.

• Self-Starter: Ability to work independently and take initiative.

• Hybrid work model: 2 days onsite per week in Newark, NJ, with flexibility for remote work the remaining days.
