Project
The Global Places and Services (GPS) function is focused on making location a strategic advantage for the company, leveraging the Data Foundation platform architecture to build data products and data sets for GPS and the Enterprise.
Description of Services .
Contractor will provide a dedicated, full-time (40 hours/week) senior business system analyst who will provide data and source system analysis and documentation for GPS; defining and documenting requirements for data products and data sets to be build / enhanced in technologies
such as Snowflake and Databricks.
Specifically, the Contractor will:
• Drive use case and requirements gathering and analysis for the ingestion and integration of core
data domains to be leveraged by Business Intelligence / Advanced Analytics /Operational teams
to gain insights on company successes and opportunities and improve operational efficiencies.
• Propel analytics through robust data comprehension, solution requirements, source system to
target system mappings, data flow modeling, and cross-functional partnership for solution
delivery.
• Marry data architecture design to direct business process evolution.
• Prioritize and manage backlog in tight coordination with the Product Owner, who will set release
scope and prioritize key deliverables.
• Perform reverse engineering to understand and evolve an existing solution.
• Research critical source system(s)/service(s) to automate ingestion, educating teammates on
Contractor’s robust knowledge of business data requirements and business processes.
The Contractor will deliver work along these lines (Key Deliverables):
• Requirements and Use Case documentation for data engineering development.
• Source to Target Mappings.
• Data Product and Data Set Requirements.
• Test Cases for functional, scenario and user acceptance.
• Data Dictionary (business and technical).
• Documentation around process and data flow mapping.
• Input to guidelines, data governance structure, and standards.
• Input to Data Quality & Audit process and standards.
• Analysis of data validation and cleansing in systems.
• API and Consumption Layer Requirements.
A successful Contractor will:
• Meet the deliverables assigned (such as key deliverables mentioned above).
• Be able to work independently.
• Embrace and understand Agile methodology.
• Embrace and learn about Databricks environment.
• Understand how to navigate in grey areas (not everything is clearly defined).
• Adjust to new stakeholders when they are identified (e.g. during intake/requirements
gathering).
• Learn with architect and engineers as we engage in a new technology
platform/architecture (SOLE Databricks).
• Work across a solutions team that is a mix of teammates from differing functions and
located in different places around the world.
