We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Program Manager to oversee data center operations and manage multiple programs critical to our business. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader with a proven track record in large-scale data center environments , managing cross-functional teams, and ensuring project success in a fast-paced setting.
ROLE OVERVIEW
- 40% Meetings : Collaborate with stakeholders, teams, and management to align on project goals.
- 50% Coordination and Problem Solving : Resolve real-time issues and liaise with on-site and partner teams.
- 10% Floor Time : Conduct inspections, coordinate tasks, and ensure project alignment.
KEY PROJECTS
- Overseeing new data center construction and site spin-ups .
- Managing server rack installations and network retrofitting , including re-cabling wireless networks.
- Monitoring and managing break-fix queues to ensure smooth operations for live production traffic .
- Coordinating with early installation teams for site connectivity and infrastructure readiness.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Program Management
- Manage multiple programs within the data center environment , ensuring on-time delivery of projects.
- Develop, implement, and communicate comprehensive project plans to stakeholders.
- Lead cross-functional coordination and risk management across diverse teams.
- Monitor and report on project performance , identify gaps, and resolve roadblocks proactively.
Data Center Operations
- Oversee operations, including site spin-ups, hardware installations, network retrofitting , and troubleshooting live production issues .
- Coordinate with on-site teams and contractors to ensure compliance with safety standards and project goals.
- Perform regular floor inspections and maintain a strong operational presence.
- Suggest and implement improvements to enhance operational efficiency and mitigate risks.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Skills
- 4+ years of project management experience within large-scale data center environments .
- Hands-on expertise in data center operations , including hardware installation and infrastructure maintenance .
- Proven ability to manage multiple teams and projects in dynamic and complex settings.
- High school diploma (or equivalent) AND 1+ years of relevant industry experience , OR 2+ years of industry experience with some college coursework.
Preferred Skills
- Technical degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering , or related fields.
- Certifications in project management or IT operations (e.g., PMP, ITIL, CompTIA, CDCP ).
- Experience working with Critical Environment infrastructures , such as UPS, generators, AHUs , or physical IT infrastructures (e.g., servers, SANs, structured cabling ).
- Experience at Big 5 tech companies (e.g., Apple, Meta, Google, Amazon) is highly desirable.
