Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Project & Tooling Engineer with experience in Plastics Injection Molding, to join our dynamic manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will perform a variety of engineering assignments in developing and implementing production, processing and tool methods. Will work within established policies, procedures and systems to meet the overall corporate objective in the support of servicing customer requirements. Will work with the customer from concept of project through to the point when the product/process is turned over to manufacturing.
Duties:
Interface with customer on accounts and review customer purchase orders and documents.
Prepare a mold data sheet and obtain quotation for customer required tools.
Participate in preliminary mold design reviews and approve mold designs.
Organize and control mold building projects.
Use of mold filling software during development of new tooling.
Provide Materials Department with all information necessary to manufacture the customer’s product.
Supervise the sampling of customer’s product to verify all tooling.
Analyze problems with new tooling start-up and propose solutions.
Certify the tooling to authorize production using Capability Study and New Product Introduction established processes.
Estimate mold costs for quotation purposes.
Contact material suppliers to obtain information on plastics selection and application.
Survey subcontractor ability performance.
Perform other duties as required.
Work Experience:
Minimum 3 years related experience working directly on customer accounts.
Familiarity with Quality Systems, ISO, CAD-CAM, and have computer, internet, and industry software product skills.
Solid Understanding of GD&T
Working knowledge of mold design and the ability Utilize 2D and 3D software.
Technical sales and presentation abilities are a plus
