We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Education Teacher for SY 24-25. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to fostering the educational and emotional growth of students with diverse learning needs.

Duties

• Provide a basic core program for special education students using a district-approved curriculum.
• Plan curriculum, lessons, teaching methods and special education programs.
• Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students.
• Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities.
• Assist the administration in implementing policies and rules governing student life and conduct. For the classroom, develop reasonable rules of classroom behavior and procedure and maintain order in the classroom in a fair and just manner.
• Assess student abilities and provide instructional and behavioral assistance for students in accordance with their individual education plan (IEP) and/or their 504-behavior plan as directed by the special education team. Support can be provided 1:1 or in small groups.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must have a valid state Special Education Teaching License
