We are currently seeking a Scrum Master for a multi-year contract in Salisbury, NC. This Scrum Master role is Agile oriented with some waterfall as well.
Note: Although this position is remote, applicants should be close to Salisbury, NC as you might need to go to the office once or twice a month.
Salary: $55-$60/hr
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the development and implementation of computer-based systems by managing cross-functional teams through the entire project lifecycle, from design to finished state, ensuring timely, efficient, and successful delivery.
- Lead and coach teams in agile methodologies, especially Scrum, to foster a collaborative and productive work environment. Act as a servant leader, helping the team remove obstacles and facilitating communication between stakeholders.
- Organize and facilitate key Scrum ceremonies such as Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews, and Sprint Retrospectives to ensure team alignment and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with project stakeholders, both internal and external, to gather requirements, clarify expectations, and provide regular project updates, ensuring that all teams are aligned with the vision and goals of the project.
- Promote team autonomy and self-organization while maintaining a focus on delivering high-quality systems. Identify team impediments and proactively address them, ensuring the team maintains focus on delivering value.
- Ensure high-quality deliverables by facilitating continuous testing, integration, and improvement. Identify and manage risks, escalating issues as necessary to maintain project timelines and stakeholder satisfaction.
- Work closely with engineering, design, quality assurance, and other departments to ensure the integration of all components of the system, maintaining a smooth and efficient workflow across teams.
- Continuously monitor team performance and implement improvements to optimize the delivery process. Use metrics and feedback to guide the team toward more effective practices.
Qualifications:
- 5 – 7 years’ direct work experience in a project management and scrum master capacity, including all aspects of process development and execution
- Requires professional and experienced scrum master with deep agile expertise as well as experience with waterfall project management who has proven success.
- Deep knowledge and experience across agile practices
- Experience in all scrum ceremonies and practices
- Proven ability to assess teams maturity through retrospectives, metrics, and observations, and experience developing and executing a coaching plan to drive continuous improvements
- Experience providing coaching and training on targeted practices to enable improving a team's ways of working
- Understanding of both Scrum and Kanban team models
- Experience working in a scaled agile environment (i.e. SAFe, or other scaling framework)
- Strong communication skills and relationship development
- Understanding of Waterfall Project Management, including strong issue, risk management, cost management, dependency management, etc.
