Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Java Tech Lead with expertise in FICO Decision Management (FICO DM) to lead our development team. This role will be pivotal in the design, architecture, and delivery of scalable and high-performance financial applications. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of FICO Decision Management solutions and a strong Java development background, with a proven track record of leading teams in building and optimizing financial applications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Technical Leadership: Lead the design, development, and deployment of Java-based applications that leverage FICO Decision Management technologies to process credit scoring, risk analytics, and decisioning workflows.
• Team Management & Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to a team of developers, ensuring best practices in coding, architecture, and project execution. Foster a collaborative and high-performance team environment.
• Solution Architecture: Architect and design scalable and secure financial decisioning systems using Java, Spring, and FICO Decision Management Suite, integrating with external systems, databases, and cloud platforms.
• FICO Decision Management Expertise: Leverage your expertise in FICO Decision Management (FICO DM) to build intelligent decisioning systems, working with decision tables, scorecards, workflows, and business rules to improve financial decision-making.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with product managers, data scientists, and other stakeholders to define application requirements, system features, and business rules that will power intelligent financial decisions based on FICO scores.
• Performance Optimization: Lead efforts to improve system performance, focusing on optimizing decisioning algorithms, data processing, and system throughput.
• Security & Compliance: Ensure that the solution is secure, compliant with financial regulations (such as GDPR, PCI DSS), and properly handles sensitive financial data with robust encryption and authorization mechanisms.
• Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvements in the application lifecycle, including managing the integration of new technologies, optimizing code, implementing automated testing, and ensuring CI/CD pipelines are in place.
• Code Quality & Reviews: Oversee code quality through regular code reviews, ensuring consistency, maintainability, and adherence to industry standards. Establish and enforce coding guidelines.
• Documentation & Reporting: Document technical designs, decisioning workflows, and system architecture for future reference and team onboarding. Provide regular status updates to leadership on team progress and challenges.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Proven Leadership: At least 3-5 years of experience leading development teams in the design and delivery of enterprise-grade Java applications, preferably in the financial services or fintech domain.
• FICO DM Expertise: Strong hands-on experience with FICO Decision Management tools and frameworks (such as FICO Decision Rules, FICO Blaze Advisor, FICO Scorecard) to implement complex decisioning logic and integrate them with Java-based applications.
• Java Expertise: Extensive experience with Java, Spring Framework, and related technologies, with a strong focus on scalability, performance, and security.
• Financial Systems Knowledge: Deep understanding of credit risk, FICO scores, decisioning systems, and financial applications.
• Architectural Design: Proven experience in designing and implementing high-performance, distributed, and scalable systems using Java and cloud technologies.
• Cloud Technologies: Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and experience in cloud-native application development and deployment.
• Database Proficiency: Experience with relational (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (e.g., MongoDB) databases for handling large-scale financial datasets.
• Security and Compliance Knowledge: Knowledge of security best practices in the financial sector, including experience with handling sensitive customer data in compliance with industry regulations (GDPR, PCI DSS).
• Excellent Communication: Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work with cross-functional teams and explain complex technical concepts clearly.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with FICO Score Algorithms: Hands-on experience with FICO Scorecard development or similar decisioning logic used in credit scoring or financial risk management applications.
• Experience in Agile Environments: Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and experience working in an Agile development environment.
• DevOps & CI/CD: Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and tools for continuous integration and deployment.
• Degree or Certification: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Certifications in FICO Decision Management or relevant Java technologies are a plus.
