Job Title: Plant Engineering Manager

Job Summary:
Aegis is partnered with a global manufacturing company located in Richmond, KY. We are seeking an experienced and driven Plant Engineering Manager to lead and manage the maintenance and engineering operations across three facilities on the same site. This role is essential to ensuring optimal equipment performance, reducing downtime, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The Plant Engineering Manager will oversee a team of skilled maintenance and engineering professionals and will be responsible for capital project management, reliability programs, and lean process improvements. This position requires a strategic leader with a strong background in industrial maintenance and engineering and a hands-on approach to problem-solving and team management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership:
- Manage, mentor, and develop a team of maintenance and engineering direct reports.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the team.
- Ensure team members are trained and aligned with safety, quality, and operational standards.
- Maintenance & Engineering Operations:
- Oversee maintenance activities, ensuring timely and effective repairs and preventive maintenance.
- Manage engineering projects to support operational efficiency, reduce downtime, and improve facility reliability.
- Develop and implement maintenance programs and reliability strategies to optimize asset performance.
- Capital Project Management:
- Lead and coordinate capital projects from concept through execution, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure projects meet safety, quality, and timeline requirements.
- Track and report on project progress, manage risks, and address issues promptly.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Implement lean manufacturing principles and practices to enhance process efficiency and reduce waste.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in maintenance, engineering, and overall plant operations.
- Drive initiatives to improve equipment reliability, reduce downtime, and increase operational efficiency.
- Compliance & Safety:
- Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement safety measures to protect employees and equipment.
- Promote a safety-first culture within the team and across the facilities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or a related field preferred).
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in maintenance and engineering within an industrial or manufacturing setting.
- Proven experience in managing a team of maintenance and engineering professionals.
- Demonstrated expertise in capital project management, from budgeting to execution.
- Strong understanding of reliability principles, lean manufacturing, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
- Proficiency in maintenance management software (CMMS) and project management tools is preferred.
