Position Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer with expertise in power distribution systems to provide technical leadership for a pharmaceutical manufacturing site in Austin, TX. This role involves improving efficiency, safety, quality, and compliance within manufacturing operations by optimizing electrical systems and processes. The Senior Electrical Engineer will lead large-scale projects, enhance system reliability, and ensure adherence to safety and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities
Project Management & Leadership
- Lead and manage large-scale technical projects from conception to execution, ensuring timely delivery within budget.
- Develop and refine project scopes, recommend improvement alternatives, and oversee multi-disciplinary project teams.
- Organize design reviews and ensure seamless integration of subsystems into larger system designs.
Technical Support & System Optimization
- Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for site-wide electrical systems, including troubleshooting and implementing upgrades.
- Identify inefficiencies in power distribution systems and recommend cost-effective solutions to improve performance.
- Design and oversee system start-up, commissioning, and validation processes for electrical systems.
Compliance & Safety
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA, and NEC standards in all electrical systems and processes.
- Collaborate with maintenance teams to maintain safe and reliable operations of electrical systems.
Training & Team Collaboration
- Train team members on equipment use, system documentation, and company procedures.
- Foster cross-functional collaboration by delivering tailored communication to peers, managers, and stakeholders.
- Resolve team conflicts and build consensus during project execution.
Continuous Improvement
- Develop long-term strategies for system replacements and improvements to optimize electrical systems.
- Stay up to date on emerging technologies and integrate innovative solutions into manufacturing processes.
Knowledge, Skills & Qualifications
- Engineering Expertise: Advanced knowledge of electrical engineering principles, particularly in power distribution systems, switchgear, and SCADA.
- Codes & Standards: Deep understanding of OSHA, NFPA, and NEC codes and regulations.
- Problem-Solving: Proven ability to assess and resolve complex technical issues.
- Project Management: Experience managing large, cross-functional projects with defined scopes and objectives.
Education & Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (required).
- Experience: Minimum of 7 years in electrical engineering, with a focus on manufacturing or utilities. Experience in pharmaceutical or regulated environments is a plus.
- Certifications: Certifications in project management, electrical systems, or process engineering are preferred.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Environment: Primarily office-based with occasional work in clean room environments.
- Physical Demands: Ability to lift objects up to 25 lbs. occasionally.
- Travel: Less than 5% travel required.
