Position Overview:
The Communications Specialist will be responsible for managing community relations, public relations efforts, and social media engagement across multiple platforms for Heirloom Hospitality’s restaurant brands. This role will work closely with the Marketing Manager to promote the restaurants, engage with the local community, drive brand awareness, and manage day-to-day social media activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Community Relations
- Build and maintain relationships with local businesses, residential housing management teams, and community agencies to promote Heirloom Hospitality’s restaurants.
- Identify and cultivate partnership opportunities that align with each restaurant brand to drive community engagement and brand loyalty.
- Organize and promote local events that tie into the brand's identity, increasing visibility and engagement within the community.
- Public Relations
- Collaborate with the Director of Marketing on media relations, ensuring consistent brand messaging across traditional and digital outlets.
- Coordinate and host media representatives, influential community members, and social media personalities at the restaurants to experience the brand’s offerings, including menu updates and special events.
- Distribute samples or product teases to relevant parties and influencers to generate buzz and media coverage.
- Track PR efforts and measure effectiveness to optimize future campaigns.
- Social Media Management & Engagement
- Oversee the day-to-day management and scheduling of social media posts on Instagram and Facebook for each restaurant brand.
- Launch and manage Heirloom Hospitality's presence on YouTube and TikTok, developing creative strategies to grow and engage these channels.
- Monitor and engage with followers on social media platforms, responding to comments and direct messages in a timely and friendly manner.
- Curate and share user-generated content (UGC) that aligns with the brand’s guidelines and showcases positive community interaction.
- Develop and maintain content calendars for social media platforms and collaborate with the marketing team on content strategy.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field (preferred).
- 2+ years of experience in communications, public relations, social media, or a related role.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong understanding of social media platforms, trends, and best practices, including Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and TikTok.
- Proven ability to engage with local communities and manage relationships effectively.
- Experience working in the hospitality or restaurant industry is a plus.
- Highly organized with the ability to multitask and manage various projects simultaneously.
