Job Summary

Technical subject matter expert for Business data centers.

• Technical SME to work with Divisions and Regions
• Voice to the Data Center owners
• Help the data center owners determine how they architect builds

Engineer should understand how to design a data center solution, ie. What equipment to put where, how to design the connectivity transport from client network to the data center. Needs to interface with data center owners, sales reps, division/region engineering. Expected to know how different designs affect space and power to knowledgably work towards an agreement.

Responsibilities:

• Act as technical subject matter expert for Business data center specific products and services
• Deep knowledge of fiber, Ethernet transport, Cloud Connectivity designs, and technology
• Work closely with market development and business development to understand data center opportunities and plan build funnels
• Technical liaison with data center owners to understand space and power needs
• Partner with HQ, divisions, and regions (sales, engineering, market development, National Engineering and TPX)
• Collaborate with cross functional stakeholders to determine best transport designs, vendors, and architecture at each data center (in and out of footprint)
• Follow deployments to ensure process is followed accurately and timely
• Stay abreast of competitive landscape and emerging technologies to best position company in the marketplace

Qualifications:

• 8+ years work experience in relative work experience
• Familiarity with ethernet connectivity solutions, secure networking solutions, cloud solutions, and/or data center services
• Track record of managing cross functional teams in a matrixed organization
• Excellent communications skills
