Infrastructure Engineer – Hybrid Cloud
Remote + compensated travel (2 weeks each in Chicago & Seattle)
6 Month Contract with potential extension or permanent
ROLE SUMMARY
Seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer , with experienced with Azure Arc in multi-regional private datacenters. As an Infrastructure Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the physical and software defined infrastructure of our Azure Local environment is reliable, serviceable, and secure in its integration with Azure Cloud and the Internet.
KEY DUTIES
- Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Design and implement Azure Local Infrastructure to meet business needs.
- Develop and Document any custom automation scripts/tools to streamline host management and scale.
- Collaborate with the Infrastructure Administration team to ensure smooth operations and troubleshooting.
- Implement and manage host-level monitoring and logging tools to ensure performance and security.
- Work closely with the SRE teams to ensure seamless integration of Azure Local stacks and Azure Cloud.
- Evaluation and rapid implementation of Azure Local features and functionality that best fit current needs.
- Work from a pre-prioritized work-item backlog, executing assigned work-items in an organized, efficient, and expedited fashion, without deterrent.
- Create and handoff knowledgebase documentation, including operational runbooks, disaster recovery plans, and regulatory audit compliance evidencing to 24/7 Operations team.
- Implement and manage firewall and WAF logging and monitoring tools to ensure security and compliance
- Participate in regulatory compliance (HITRUST/SOC2) evidencing for audits.
JOB-SPECIFIC EXPIERENCE, EDUCATION & SKILLS
- 4+ years of Hyperconverged Infrastructure Administration with Azure Arc
- Experience with System Center managed hypervisors (running Azure Local, vSphere, Hyper-V, or other Type1 HCI Hypervisor) .
- Experience with cloud-based layer 3 firewalls and layer4-7 web application firewalls
- Familiarity with containerization and micro-segmentation technologies (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker)
- Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code/Configuration-as-Code, preferable with PowerShell and/or Ansible.
- In-depth knowledge of security best practices and SOC and HIPAA/HITRUST security standards.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills required.
- Implementation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of complex environments.
