Mechanical Technician V

Onsite Position

Travel Requirement: Less than 10%

Contract Rate: $40-$45/hr (experience-based)



We are seeking a Mechanical Technician V to support the development of world-class medical products for image-guided surgery, including the O-arm system. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in mechanical product development, prototyping, and testing, with a strong emphasis on collaboration and attention to detail.



Key Responsibilities

Prototyping and Testing: Build, test, and validate prototype systems for large capital equipment. Perform failure analysis, write and execute verification and validation (V&V) tests, and operate machines for rapid prototyping.

Design Support: Create assembly work instructions, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and qualification reports. Perform mechanical inspections, interpret drawings, and ensure compliance with design control, quality, and regulatory processes.

Collaboration and Optimization: Work with cross-functional teams to optimize designs for cost, reliability, and manufacturability. Support design goals related to cost, size, weight, durability, and serviceability.

Continuous Improvement: Conduct Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), assist in Failure Mode and Effects Analyses (FMEAs), and monitor development progress to ensure timely delivery of objectives.



Requirements

Must-Have:

• High school diploma or equivalent with 15+ years of relevant experience .

• Proficiency in electromechanical and motion assembly systems.

• Experience writing assembly instructions and performing mechanical inspections.

• Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.



Nice-to-Have:

• Associate degree in Mechanical Engineering.

10+ years of industry product development experience.

• Knowledge of CNC machining, manufacturing processes, and SolidWorks.

• Experience with X-ray product design, experimentation methods, and statistical techniques.

• Familiarity with cable building, soldering, and repairing PCBAs.



Interview Process

1. Initial screening call with the recruiter.

2. Technical interview to assess hands-on expertise.

3. 1-2 rounds of technical interview(s) with client Team
