Key Responsibilities:

  • Design custom automated systems tailored to diverse environments, balancing cost and labor constraints.
  • Collaborate with Applications Engineering, Sales, and other departments to assess project feasibility and ensure successful execution.
  • Oversee the conceptualization, design, and development of mechanical systems and components, ensuring alignment with project requirements and specifications.
  • Use CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) to create detailed designs, drawings, and models for mechanical components, assemblies, and structures.
  • Conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments, and design reviews to validate mechanical solutions.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, shop technicians, and project managers, to ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems.
  • Communicate technical requirements, timelines, and design considerations effectively with internal stakeholders and external partners.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers and technicians, fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing within the team.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, or 10+ years of relevant industry experience.
  • At least 4 years of experience in mechanical engineering, specializing in machine/system design, development, and integration.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) with occasional use of simulation tools.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, capable of analyzing complex technical challenges and delivering effective solutions.
  • Proven leadership skills with experience managing cross-functional teams and driving project success.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree (Master’s in Engineering, MBA, or related field).
  • 7+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, focusing on machine/system design, development, and integration.
  • Experience working in a custom automation integrator or machine builder environment.
  • Background in mentoring or managing junior engineers to foster talent development.
