Job Description:
Perform as one of the Applications Developer/Analyst for our client. Primary responsibility is for the support of the business applications which include maintenance activities of these applications such as reports migration, upgrade initiatives; development of apps, reports and interfaces; user support and application testing activities.
Job Responsibilities
• Gather business requirements and document specifications in migrating Business Objects Deski reports into MicroSoft PowerBI and develop PowerBI reports.
• Maintain various applications for the departments including application upgrade, patch maintenance and other related maintenance activities.
• Develop and maintain related applications and interfaces in support of departments’ initiatives.
• Gather business requirements and document specifications for development of application, reports and interfaces.
• Implement and enforce processes for application migration, testing and support maintenance.
• Provide production support for business applications, technical environments and interfacing systems by assisting or interacting with peers and users in troubleshooting issues, change implementation and support maintenance.
• Follow existing business processes and operational guidelines when supporting the business application users, vendors and maintenance activities such as escalation of issue/system downtime, change order implementation, perform root cause analysis, apply patch, etc.
• Follow through on project development/production issues and customer inquiries to ensure resolution and proper root-cause analysis in order to provide quality and timely service delivery.
• Coordinate with staff, applications and software vendors in terms of business applications support, incidents and issue resolution.
• Able to support 24x7 business operations and be available onsite during business hours.
Required Skills
• College degree preferably in the fields of Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
• Must have minimum two years work experience as an applications developer in developing PowerBI reports using relational database as the data source for PowerBI reports
• Must have minimum two years work experience as an applications developer using/developing SQL queries in retrieving database data for display in the PowerBI reports
• Must have minimum two years work experience as an applications developer using JavaScript, VBScript, C#, ASP, .NET, HTML, CSS, Java or any object-oriented programming language.
• Must have good problem solving, troubleshooting/issue resolution, organization/planning skills.
• Must have hands-on programming experience using SQL or comparable data manipulation language (DML).
• Must have the ability to multi-task and provide off-hours support for production related business applications issues/incidents and/or technical environment support.
• Must have excellent verbal communications, interpersonal skills and documentation skills.
• Must have the ability to learn quickly and adapt to multi-platform technical environment.
• Must be willing to go through the Police Department clearance process.
Optional Skills
• Exposure or actual experience in maintaining business applications such as Work Order Management System, Timekeeping/Scheduling System. Payroll or Financial System or any other business application is a plus.
• Exposure or actual experience in using any third-party reporting or business intelligence tool such as Crystal Reports, Cognos, Tableau is a plus.
