We are a rapidly growing organization in the Paramus, NJ area. We are seeking to hire a Payroll & Benefits Specialist to join our team of ambitious professionals. The ideal candidate will be responsible for but limited to the following responsibilities:

Job Responsibilities:

  • The Payroll and Benefits Specialist is responsible for managing the accurate and timely processing of payroll and administration of employee benefits programs. This role ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations while providing excellent support to employees regarding payroll and benefits inquiries.

Payroll Administration Process bi-weekly/monthly payroll for all employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and legal regulations.

Verify timekeeping records and resolve discrepancies.

Maintain payroll records and generate reports for management and audits.

Manage tax-related processes, including withholding, filing, and compliance with federal, state, and local laws.

Handle payroll-related deductions such as retirement contributions, garnishments, and benefits.

Collaborate with the finance department to reconcile payroll accounts.

Benefits Administration

Oversee the administration of employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other voluntary benefits.

Serve as the primary point of contact for employee benefits-related questions and issues.

Facilitate open enrollment and ensure accurate enrollment changes are reflected in payroll and benefits systems.

Coordinate with benefits providers to resolve claims and coverage issues.

Monitor compliance with benefits regulations such as ACA, COBRA, and ERISA.

Employee Support and Compliance

Ensure compliance with labor laws and internal policies related to payroll and benefits.

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulations affecting payroll and benefits.

Assist employees with payroll discrepancies, benefit enrollments, and other inquiries.

Conduct new hire benefits orientations and ensure onboarding paperwork is complete.

Prepare and distribute required notices, such as Summary Plan Descriptions and annual compliance disclosures.

Job Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.

4+ years of experience in payroll and benefits administration required.

Experience with payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paylocity) and HRIS systems preferred.

Strong understanding of payroll processes, wage laws, and tax regulations.

Knowledge of benefits administration and compliance requirements.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

High attention to detail and accuracy in managing data.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
