Echoing Hills Village, Inc (Echoing Hills of Northeast Ohio) is seeking a Maintenance Coordinator to be responsible for coordinating and overseeing the work of the maintenance staff and performing general maintenance functions on the buildings, grounds, equipment, and vehicles as required. This position will work to set maintenance priorities, perform routine maintenance inspections, and ensure compliance with federal and state regulations. This position will work closely with staff, individuals, contractors, vendors, and suppliers to ensure that maintenance, equipment, and repair needs are being met.
This position will serve as a member of the Leadership Team and various committees to help direct not only the maintenance department but the overall direction of the facility. This position also serves as the Safety Officer. This position will serve as a vital link between its assigned locations and the Corporate Office for maintenance, safety and compliance needs. This position will supervise and manage the workflow of all maintenance employees.
The Maintenance Coordinator position also carries the following responsibilities:
  • Responsible for overseeing and assisting with the installation, inspection, maintenance, and repair of various operating, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems. This includes but is not limited to heating and cooling systems, water and sewage systems, and power generators.
  • Responsible for overseeing and assisting with general assembly, repair and maintenance of the building, medical equipment, appliances, furniture, and other fixtures and equipment.
  • Responsible for overseeing and assisting with maintaining the grounds/property by directing staff and participating in the performing of landscaping, snow removal, and other outdoor activities.
  • Responsible for assisting with the daily operations of the department/facility. This includes keeping the maintenance work shop and equipment clean and orderly, monitoring and reporting the usage of supplies and equipment, and other duties as assigned.
  • Responsible for assisting the Director of Maintenance and/or the Regional Director with employee supervision and work assignments.
  • Responsible for assisting the Director of Maintenance, Regional Director and other Leadership with compliance, regulatory audits, and safety for both individuals and staff.
  • Responsible for performing routine maintenance inspections and maintaining required maintenance documentation.
  • Responsible for performing other duties as necessary.
Work is performed in various environments, including residential facilities, administrative offices, and community centers. Work hours are generally Monday through Friday 8:00am until 5:00 pm but may include any shift, weekends, and holidays for operational needs and in emergency situations. The position may require standing, bending, and lifting heavy objects. Work will involve performing tasks both indoors and outdoors, occasionally in adverse weather conditions.
This role involves exposure to cleaning agents, minor repair tools, and potential hazards associated with maintenance tasks. The position requires adherence to safety protocols to ensure the well-being of residents and staff. Work performed will be of a hands-on, manual, mechanical, technical, and detailed nature. May be required to be on-call and be available for after-hours emergencies. Flexibility in working hours, including occasional evenings, weekends, and on-call duties, may be required to address urgent maintenance needs. Position will be required to travel offsite occasionally and may be required to assist with individuals including transportation of individuals.

Position Requirements
  • A High School Diploma or GED is required. Advanced certification in building trades and knowledge of building and safety codes preferred.
  • At least two (2) years of general maintenance experience and supervisory experience required.
  • Prior experience working in a healthcare setting or with IDD individuals preferred.
  • Demonstrated skill sets in the areas of mechanical/building ability required. This may include mathematics, electrical, plumbing, etc.
  • Ability to drive all vehicles assigned, including vans and coaches.
  • An insurable driving record according to the Echoing Hills' insurance carriers required.
  • CPR and First Aid certification within 30 days of hire is required.
  • Ability to work with individuals with IDD of varying functionality in a professional and Christian manner.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of HIPAA, OSHA, safety, bloodborne pathogens, infection control, individual care, and patient rights guidelines.
