Description
JOB SUMMARY
This position will ensure timely and cost-effective repair parts and supplies procurement, including safety, quality, and manufacturing needs. This position will develop the critical spare parts inventory strategy to effectively manage repair parts, supplies, and critical spare parts inventories.
PRIMARY DUTIES
- Participate in all safe working activities and assist in driving safe working practices. Responsible for personal work safety performance.
- Procurement of needed spare parts, supplies (including safety supplies) in a timely and cost-effective manner. Always understanding urgency and delivery statuses.
- Assist in research of contracted services for maintenance, manufacturing, and warehouses.
- Develop a repair parts inventory and maintain such inventory for effectiveness.
- Develop and maintain a preventative maintenance system. Work with the Scheduling Manager to plan equipment preventative maintenance and assign tasks to maintenance personnel.
- Maintain a spreadsheet of purchases to monitor spending monthly.
- Assist in maintaining a critical spare parts list based on severity, costs, and delivery lead times. Report on monetary changes to finance monthly.
- Build working relationships with supply vendors and contracted vendor services.
- SDS management.
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE - High school diploma, GED
- Proficient computer skills: MS Office Suite
- 3-5 years industry experience
- Experience with inventory and ordering
- Excellent communication skills
- SAP experience preferred
MENTAL/VISUAL DEMANDS You must be able to read text that is close and at a distance with or without correction. In addition, you must be able to perform manual tasks, hear, sit, reach, lift, and interact with others.
WORKING CONDITIONS - Office is situated in the maintenance shop. Activities occur both inside (protection from weather conditions but not temperature changes) and outside.
LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION Valid Driver's License
