The firm is hiring for a new Legal Assistant with experience supporting Trust attorneys for their growing Trusts practice. While this role has hours of 9-5, they do have an evening staff to take on overflow – which helps ensure work. Life balance. What you'll do:
As a Legal Assistant for this awesome Trusts team, your responsibilities will include preparing draft estate plan documents and final documents for execution, preparing probate documents and filing packages for probate court, and preparing and processing client bills using the firm's billing software. You will also be responsible for maintaining client files with current estate plans, assisting in the collection of estate assets, and maintaining pleadings binders for estate administration cases. Other duties include assisting with the collection of estate assets, scheduling of appraisers, assembling of estate tax binders, and filing of tax returns. You will also handle post-execution processes, including drafting letters to clients and creating estate planning binders. Additionally, you will be responsible for calendar maintenance, appointment setting for attorneys, and opening new matters, including conflict checks, new matter forms, and engagement letters.
About you:
You have a minimum of 3 years of Legal Assistant or Paralegal experience -some of that experience MUST be from a Trusts practice. You have strong communication skills and, ideally, experience with estate administration. You have knowledge of legal document formats such as contracts, agreements, briefs, summonses, complaints, and motions. You also have strong proofreading capabilities, solid MS Office skills, and experience with client bill pay is a plus.
