The Employee Relations Manager is responsible for fostering a positive workplace environment by managing employee relations initiatives, addressing workplace conflicts, and ensuring compliance with labor laws and company policies. This role serves as a key resource for employees and managers, providing guidance on employee relations issues, performance management, and workplace policies to promote fairness, consistency, and engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employee relations matters, including complaints, grievances, and conflict resolution.
- Investigate employee concerns and complaints thoroughly and objectively, ensuring timely and appropriate resolution.
- Promote and maintain a positive work culture that aligns with the organization’s values and goals.
- Interpret and communicate company policies, procedures, and labor laws to employees and managers.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws, including FMLA, ADA, FLSA, and EEO regulations.
- Provide coaching and support to managers to enhance leadership and communication skills.
- Mediate conflicts between employees and/or management to resolve issues in a fair and equitable manner.
- Act as a neutral party to ensure all perspectives are considered and documented appropriately.
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance employee engagement, satisfaction, and retention.
- Maintain accurate records of employee relations cases, investigations, and outcomes.
- Provide guidance to employees and managers on navigating challenging workplace scenarios.
- Promote a culture of continuous learning and development.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- 5+ years of experience in human resources, with a focus on employee relations.
- Professional certifications such as PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP are highly desirable.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport at all levels of the organization.
- Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
- Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
