Role Description:
The Director of Human Resources (DHR) plays a key role in driving the growth strategy of Parker Young Construction to ensure high-performing teams and a strong company culture. As a vital member of the Senior Leadership Team, the DHR will collaborate with functional leaders to attract, hire, and retain top talent while ensuring competitive compensation and benefits programs.
This role will oversee essential HR functions such as payroll, performance management, and benefits administration. The DHR will act as a trusted partner to leadership and employees at all levels, helping to cultivate a positive, engaged, informed work environment, and future growth plans.
Key Responsibilities:
- Actively participates as a key member of the leadership team in the development and execution of company strategies. Develop and report on key HR-related metrics and lead improvement projects.
- Designs, plans, and implements human resources programs and policies to achieve the company’s strategic business plans, while aligning to company culture, mission, and talent strategy.
- Assesses and leads the needs of an organization to drive rapid performance improvement and developing and implementing strategies to achieve high organizational performance.
- Oversees the organization’s HR functions including staffing, recruiting, hiring, onboarding, organizational development, performance management, and compensation decisions.
- Oversees the Merger & Acquisition (M&A) activities through due diligence, organizational assessment, and integration of key HR functions.
- Provides leadership in ensuring the effective processes that lead to the hiring and onboarding process for a multi-site company with both salaried and hourly positions. Has a proven track record of successful hiring and retention.
- Identifies succession planning needs and collaborates with business leaders on coaching and developing talent.
- Leads the development and implementation of compensation and benefits plans, including payroll, merit-based and market-based salary increases, incentive plans, and healthcare benefit plans.
- Oversees the development, implementation, and communications of HR policies of a multi-site business, ensuring compliance to employment laws at the Federal, State, and local levels.
Key Qualifications:
- 5-7 years of successful Human Resources management experience as a senior manager or director of HR.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant discipline.
- Human Resources or related professional certifications preferred (e.g., SPHR).
- High proficiency in HR management in a manufacturing setting including both administrative and industrial staff.
- Strong capability in active listening with leadership and the employee base, ensuring a collaborative environment for the exchange of ideas, and provide solutions accordingly.
- Ability to effectively communicate in written, verbal and presentation formats to employees throughout the company, regardless of position.
- Ability to form productive, trusting relationships throughout the entire organization, is seen as a trusted confidant and advisor.
- Familiarity with all Microsoft and major software platforms (particularly relative to HRIS).
