Why does the job exist?
This position serves as the first line of communication for NMDOT employees needing to check out a Motor Pool vehicle.
This position will be responsible for managing and entering equipment usage tickets for all General Office NMDOT units.
This position will generate work orders for Motor Pool vehicles needing any repairs and/or service.
Manage Equipment Usage Tickets and work orders on Fleet Focus.
Use of computer system for Motor Pool Operations dispatch and receive units.
Rotate Usage on Motor Pool vehicles to ensure adequate and reasonable utilization.
Clean and detail G.O. equipment units on a daily basis. Perform daily fuel tank monitoring readings.

Securely maintain and effectively manage an inventory system for equipment units. Perform daily fuel tank monitoring readings.

Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will have preferred experience/education in the following areas:
*Experience with customer service and serving customer needs by telephone, email or in person.
*Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel Access, Outlook email and Internet Explorer or equivalent programs.
*Knowledge and experience in washing and detailing vehicles for Motor Pool.
Minimum Qualification
High School diploma or equivalent and three (3) months experience in office administration and/or customer service. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling three (3) months may substitute for the required experience.
Employment Requirements
Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License. Must possess and maintain a current Defensive Driving Course certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive a Defensive Driving Course certificate as a condition of continued employment.
Working Conditions
Office setting, exposure to VDT, extensive personal computer and phone usage. Some travel may be required. Will be in different weather conditions due to moving vehicles & bring in for wash and detail.
