Project Coordinator
1 Year Contract
On-Site
4 Day Work Week/10 hour Days
Surry, VA (If not locale, Per Diem is Offered)
We are seeking an experienced Project Coordinator to support the successful execution of large capital projects, specifically in the nuclear sector. In this role, you will coordinate across multiple disciplines, facilitate communication among core project staff, and assist in the day-to-day management of AVR, Relay, and MG projects. You will work closely with the Project Manager (PM) and various teams to ensure smooth project operations and timely completion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Coordination: Collaborate with Project Managers (PMs) and cross-functional teams (Engineering, Procurement, Finance, Scheduling, SMEs, etc.) to execute project directives and ensure alignment across all teams.
- Scheduling & Task Execution: Develop and maintain project schedules, support the PM and SMEs in scheduling tasks, and perform other project management duties as directed.
- Meeting Coordination: Organize and facilitate project meetings, including developing agendas and capturing action items. Provide regular follow-up on action item status.
- Site Coordination: Manage site access logistics, including both escorted and unescorted access, in coordination with the PM.
- Communication: Effectively communicate project updates, decisions, and directives to stakeholders, ensuring clear and consistent messaging.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the PM to ensure the successful coordination of AVR, Relay, and MG projects, driving accountability and progress.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Capital Project Coordination: Proven experience in coordinating large capital projects, especially in the nuclear sector, working collaboratively with PMs and other key stakeholders.
- Scheduling Expertise: Experience performing project scheduling for PMs/SMEs, with the ability to track and execute tasks on behalf of the PM.
- Nuclear Project Experience: Previous experience assisting in the coordination of AVR, Relay, or MG projects within a nuclear facility is essential.
- Strong Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with various project teams and stakeholders.
- Team Collaboration: Ability to lead, collaborate, and work effectively in multi-disciplinary teams, driving results in a fast-paced, complex environment.
Nice to Have:
- Experience with SAP software
- Familiarity with nuclear industry-specific processes and regulations
Preferred Experience:
- 5-7+ years of directly related experience as a project coordinator on large capital projects
- Minimum of 4 years of experience as a Project Coordinator or Project Controls specialist in a nuclear facility environment
Education:
- Minimum of a high school diploma or GED; relevant technical certifications or college degree a plus.
Additional Requirements:
- Must have prior nuclear experience to be considered for this role.
