About the Role

The Company is seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead and manage its financial operations during a period of strategic growth and transformation. The CFO will be a key member of the executive leadership team, responsible for providing financial oversight, ensuring sound financial practices, and developing strategies to support the institution's long-term sustainability. This role requires a collaborative, creative, and strategic leader with a Master's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field, and a preference for a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license. The ideal candidate will have at least 8-10 years' experience in financial management, with a focus on capital campaigns, endowment management, and complex budgeting and forecasting, particularly in the context of higher education or non-profit organizations.Key responsibilities for the CFO at the company include leading the financial operations, developing and implementing financial strategies aligned with the institution's goals, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements. The successful candidate will also be expected to work closely with external auditors, manage the finance team, and provide financial guidance to support decision-making. A strong commitment to the mission and values of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) or similar organizations is essential, as is the ability to build donor confidence through excellent financial stewardship. The CFO will be instrumental in the company's $100 million capital campaign and must be adept at identifying trends, mitigating risks, and addressing areas for improvement.
