The Compliance Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring that the mental health program operates in full compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, as well as internal policies and accreditation standards. This role involves monitoring program activities, conducting audits, training staff on compliance requirements, and implementing best practices to maintain high-quality patient care and ethical standards.

*Key Responsibilities:*
* Monitor and ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements, including HIPAA, Medicaid/Medicare, and state mental health laws.
* Conduct regular internal audits and risk assessments to identify areas of non-compliance and recommend corrective actions.
* Develop, implement, and update policies and procedures to align with compliance standards and accreditation requirements.
* Train staff on compliance-related topics, including patient confidentiality, documentation requirements, and ethical standards.
* Review clinical documentation and billing records to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with funding and reimbursement guidelines.
* Serve as a liaison with regulatory agencies, accreditation bodies, and legal counsel regarding compliance matters.
* Investigate reports of potential compliance violations and collaborate with leadership to resolve issues appropriately.
* Assist in preparing for external audits and inspections, ensuring all required documentation is accurate and up to date.
* Keep up with changes in mental health laws, regulations, and industry best practices, and advise leadership on necessary adjustments.
* Promote a culture of compliance and ethical responsibility within the mental health program.

*Requirements:*
* Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Social Work, Psychology, Public Health, or a related field, required.
* Master’s degree in a relevant field, preferred.
* Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in compliance, quality assurance, or regulatory oversight within a healthcare or mental health setting, required.
* Familiarity with HIPAA, Medicaid/Medicare regulations, and mental health accreditation standards (e.g., Joint Commission, CARF), preferred.
* Strong knowledge of healthcare compliance regulations and best practices.
* Excellent attention to detail and ability to conduct thorough audits and investigations.
* Strong communication and training skills to educate staff on compliance policies.
* Ability to analyze data and generate reports to support compliance initiatives.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic health records (EHR) systems.
