We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist (PT) to provide specialized therapy services to medically fragile children. This role focuses on improving mobility, strength, and overall functional abilities in children with complex medical conditions. The PT will work closely with a multidisciplinary team, including physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, and families, to develop and implement individualized treatment plans that support each child's unique needs.
*Key Responsibilities:*
Assess and evaluate the physical therapy needs of medically fragile children with conditions such as neuromuscular disorders, developmental delays, genetic conditions, and mobility impairments.
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to improve motor function, strength, coordination, balance, and overall mobility.
Utilize therapeutic exercises, adaptive equipment, positioning techniques, and assistive devices to enhance functional abilities.
Monitor and document patient progress, adjusting therapy plans as needed to ensure optimal outcomes.
Educate and support families and caregivers by providing training on therapeutic exercises, mobility aids, and home-based care strategies.
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, speech therapists, and occupational therapists, to ensure a comprehensive approach to care.
Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards, safety protocols, and best practices in pediatric physical therapy.
Advocate for the needs of medically fragile children by promoting accessibility, adaptive equipment, and community-based support resources.
*Requirements:*
* Doctorate or Master’s degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program, required.
* Current and valid Physical Therapist (PT) license in the state of practice, required.
* Minimum of one year of experience in pediatric physical therapy, required.
* Experience working with medically fragile children, including those with neuromuscular disorders, genetic conditions, or mobility impairments, preferred.
* Strong knowledge of pediatric developmental milestones and conditions affecting medically fragile children.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with children, families, and a multidisciplinary team.
* Patience, compassion, and adaptability when working with children with complex medical needs.
* Ability to design creative and engaging therapy activities that motivate children and support progress.
