Under the general direction of the Chief, Division of Project Management (CEA B), the Deputy Division Chief of Project Delivery Administration provides leadership responsibilities for planning, organizing, and managing staff activities related to the development, implementation, and management of the statewide Capital Outlay Support (COS) budget as well as providing administrative direct support for the Department's Headquarters Divisions of Construction, Design, Environmental Analysis, Right of Way and Land Surveys, and Project Management and indirect support to Engineering Services.
Working Conditions
This position may be eligible for telework. The amount of telework is at the discretion of the Department and based on Caltrans’s evolving telework policy. Caltrans supports telework, recognizing that in-person attendance may be required based on operational needs. Employees are expected to be able to report to their worksites with minimum notification if an urgent need arises. The selected candidate will be required to commute to the headquartered location as needed to meet operational needs. Business travel may be required and reimbursement considers an employee’s designated headquartered location, primary residence, and may be subject to CalHR regulations or applicable bargaining unit contract provisions. All commute expenses to the headquartered location will be the responsibility of the selected candidate.

This process provides for examination and job-selection specific to each position and consistent with the knowledge, skills, and abilities of the classification.

Minimum Qualifications
Either I
One year of experience in the California state service performing the duties of a Staff Services Manager II (Supervisory) or Staff Services Manager II (Managerial).
Or II
One year of experience in the California state service performing analytical staff duties of a class with a level of responsibility not less than that of Staff Services Manager II (Supervisory) or Staff Services Manager II (Managerial) and current employment in a class with a level of responsibility not less than that of Staff Services Manager II (Supervisory) or Staff Services Manager II (Managerial).
Or III
Two years of experience in the California state service performing the duties of a Staff Services Manager I.
Or IV
Experience: Five years of increasingly responsible management, personnel, fiscal, planning, program evaluation, or related analytical experience which shall have included the preparation of reports and the presentation of recommendations to management beyond the trainee level, at least two years of which must have been in a supervisory capacity. (In appraising experience more weight will be given to the breadth of pertinent experience and the evidence of the candidate's ability to accept and fulfill increasing responsibilities than to the length of the experience.)
Education: Equivalent to graduation from college. (Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.)
