We are seeking a Hardware Design Engineer to design and model qubits and quantum architectures for scalable computing. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to bridge hardware development and system integration, focusing on topological qubits, superconducting circuits, and dots.
Key Responsibilities:
- Research and describe key aspects of qubit and component technologies.
- Design, model, and simulate novel qubit and qubit gate architectures.
- Collaborate with teams across modeling, fabrication, measurement, hardware, and systems to accelerate quantum computer development.
- Develop cryogenic testing systems and measure solid-state qubits.
- Stay up to date with emerging quantum technologies and integrate them into roadmap.
- Act as a bridge between hardware development and architecture teams to accelerate product development.
- Evaluate and address factors such as reporting formats, cost, schedule constraints, and security requirements.
Qualifications:
- PhD in Physics, Quantum Information Science, or a related discipline with 2+ years of relevant experience.
- 10+ years of overall experience in the field.
- Expertise in building cryogenic experiments and measuring solid-state qubits.
- Strong knowledge of semiconductor and/or superconducting device physics relevant to quantum computing.
- Experience designing and modeling quantum architectures.
- Proficiency in Python (8-10 years), Mathematica (8-10 years), and PowerPoint (8-10 years) .
Preferred:
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in fast-paced, distributed teams.
- Willingness to travel (up to 25%).
