As a Senior Big Data Engineer, you will work with cutting-edge big data technologies to design and implement solutions that enable large-scale data processing and analytics. You will be responsible for building and optimizing data pipelines, ensuring high availability and performance for large datasets, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to solve business problems through data-driven insights.
Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and optimize data pipelines for handling large-scale datasets using Spark, Hadoop, and other big data tools.
- Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and other engineers to build data solutions.
- Develop scalable ETL processes for transforming and loading data into data warehouses and lakes.
- Implement best practices for data processing and performance optimization in distributed systems.
- Maintain and improve the data architecture and infrastructure to meet performance and scalability goals.
- Ensure data integrity, quality, and security across data systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data processing and storage.
- Support and implement data migrations and upgrades.
Requirements:
- Experienced in working with big data technologies like Spark, Hadoop, and Kafka.
- Proficient in Python, Java, or Scala for data processing tasks.
- Comfortable with data modeling and designing data architectures.
- Skilled in performance tuning for distributed systems.
- Able to design and build high-quality, reusable, and efficient data pipelines.
- Knowledgeable in both batch and stream processing techniques.
- Experienced with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
- A team player who is comfortable working in an agile environment.
It would be great if you also had:
- Experience with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools.
- Knowledge of machine learning pipelines and frameworks.
- Strong experience with relational and NoSQL databases.
- Expertise in cloud data services like AWS S3, BigQuery, or Azure Data Lake.
