The ideal candidate will have strong trial preparation and trial assistance experience , exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple cases in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Litigation Support:
- Assist attorneys throughout all phases of litigation, from case initiation through trial and appeal.
- Draft, review, and prepare legal documents, pleadings, discovery responses, motions, and trial exhibits .
- Conduct legal research and summarize case law, statutes, and regulations relevant to litigation matters.
- Manage and organize case files, medical records, expert reports, deposition transcripts, and other key documents .
- Track court deadlines, depositions, hearings, and trial schedules to ensure timely filings and compliance with court rules.
- Assist in fact investigation, witness interviews, and document review to support case strategy.
- Communicate with clients, expert witnesses, insurance adjusters, opposing counsel, and court personnel .
- Handle e-discovery, document production, and electronically stored information (ESI) using legal case management software.
Trial Preparation & Assistance:
- Assist attorneys with trial preparation, including drafting trial notebooks, witness lists, exhibit lists, and demonstrative evidence .
- Coordinate logistics for court appearances, depositions, and trial presentations .
- Prepare and organize jury instructions, witness files, and deposition designations .
- Provide on-site trial assistance , including managing exhibits, coordinating witnesses, and ensuring all materials are readily available.
- Work closely with trial teams to support attorneys in the courtroom.
Qualifications:
- Education: Paralegal certificate or associate/bachelor’s degree in legal studies or a related field.
- Experience: 5+ years of litigation paralegal experience , with a focus on personal injury defense, medical malpractice, professional liability, or product liability .
- Skills: Extensive trial preparation and trial assistance experience .
- Strong understanding of litigation procedures, court rules, and case management .
- Proficiency in legal research tools (Westlaw, LexisNexis), e-filing systems, and document management software .
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills .
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple deadlines, and work efficiently under pressure .
- Experience reviewing and summarizing medical records, expert reports, and deposition transcripts .
