Quality Engineer – Contract-to-Hire - 6 months

Location: Itasca, IL

Pay: $35 - $40/hr + OT Opportunities

Hours: 6 AM – 2:30 PM (Flexible, Heavy OT Available, ideally 5 AM - 4:30 PM)

What You’ll Do:

• Lead quality inspections & documentation for machined components
• Conduct internal quality audits and ensure compliance with standards
• Identify process improvements to enhance efficiency
• Oversee three Quality Clerks and support daily assignments
• Collaborate with engineering & production teams to drive quality excellence

What You Need:

? 5+ years as a Quality Engineer in manufacturing (machined components preferred)

? Ability to read blueprints, GD&T, and use inspection tools (calipers, micrometers, CMMs)

? Experience in high-mix, low-volume machine shops or OEMs

? Familiarity with ISO standards, ERP systems, and internal audits

? Strong analytical skills and a process improvement mindset

? Comfortable with contract-to-hire and flexible work schedules

Bonus Skills:

? Leadership experience in a Quality Department

? Experience implementing inspection & documentation efficiencies
