Responsibilities:
- Support the completion of air (primarily) permit applications, and on-going compliance with environmental regulations such that all control, monitoring, recordkeeping, and reporting requirements are satisfied.
- Perform multiple tasks in a variety of projects for a diverse range of clients. Ensure timely completion of projects within allocated budgets and scope.
- Create estimates of air emissions associated with industrial processes and related activities. Perform air emission calculations, leveraging methods like mass-balance, engineering judgment, and AP-42 emission factors.
- Familiarity/understanding of federal, state, and local environmental regulations, specifically pertaining to CAA, RCRA, CERCLA, CWA (NPDES and SPCC). Continually review new and proposed regulations as they relate to industrial clients.
- An ability to interpret complex environmental regulations and assist industrial clients with demonstrating compliance in a cost-effective manner.
- Produce and maintain essential and accurate documents and technical reports, including engineering calculations, compliance reports, Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP) and Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure (SPCC) Plans, as well as submissions such as Tier II, TRI, RMP reports, and applications for air permits.
- Conduct air-dispersion modeling across a range of industrial process operations.
Qualifications:
- Minimum Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical or Environmental Engineering. M.S. degree welcomed.
- E.I.T. encouraged.
- 0 - 3 years consulting or industry experience, in environmental compliance and permitting under the Clean Air Act.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Exceptional organizational skills required to support/manage multiple concurrent projects.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a project team are essential.
- Proficiency in analytical tasks and meticulous attention to detail.
